Dr. Meredith Lanham Mueller joined Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers in 2016 as a consultative optometrist. Originally from Huntersville, NC, she received her Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry (SCO), located in Memphis TN. She attended Furman University for her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences, where she also played Division 1 basketball. Dr. Lanham completed a 13-month post-doctoral residency in ocular disease with Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers to become extremely proficient in the treatment of dry eye, glaucoma, lasers, emergent care, and the complexities of pre- and post-operative cataract, corneal and LASIK surgeries.
Dr. Lanham Mueller is very involved with mentoring future optometry students from Southern College, Indiana University, University of Pikeville and University Alabama-Birmingham through the internship program at Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers. She regularly gives continuing education lectures to her peers on various medical eye diseases and treatments, and assists with the residents entering the Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers ocular disease program.
Dr. Lanham Mueller became a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry in 2018 and is a member of the American Optometric Association, Kentucky Optometric Association, Louisville Glaucoma Society and the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.
Dr. Lanham Mueller and her husband recently purchased property in Oldham County, KY to plant long-term roots in the community. Although a change of pace, she enjoys letting her two chocolate labs run without a leash, learning new gardening skills and the peace of country living.
